DAY 1
Spend the first half of the day exploring Historic Blakeley State Park, which combines history and nature. You can hike the trails that wind through the site of the last major battle of the Civil War, kayak on the Blakeley River, or take a guided boat tour through the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta to experience Coastal Alabama’s unique ecosystems. Then, end your day by heading to North Beach Park in Fairhope. It’s a perfect spot to watch the sunset over Mobile Bay while enjoying the park’s serene environment.
DAY 2
Start your day with a visit to Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, which offers boardwalk trails through coastal wetlands. Learn about the local flora and fauna at the interpretive center, and don’t miss the pollinator garden. After visiting Weeks Bay, take a short drive to the charming town of Magnolia Springs, known for its beautiful live oak trees and spring-fed Magnolia River. You can enjoy a scenic drive or explore the area on foot. Complete your day with a visit to The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa. This historic hotel in Point Clear, dates back to 1847. Even if you’re not staying there, you can explore the grounds, which include beautiful gardens and views of Mobile Bay. Consider having dinner at one of the hotel’s restaurants.
DAY 3
Head to 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center in Spanish Fort. The center offers exhibits on local wildlife, a theater with nature films, and opportunities for guided boat tours or canoe rentals to explore the Delta. After exploring the 5 Rivers, head to Village Point Park Preserve. This 60-acre park includes historic sites, such as the D’Olive Cemetery and the site of the old Daphne Plantation. The park also features scenic walking trails along Mobile Bay.
