Branyon Backcountry Trail offers over 15 miles of scenic pathways that wind through coastal dunes, forests, and wetlands, providing ample opportunities for spotting wildlife and enjoying the park’s varied ecosystems.

Rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore Lake Shelby’s calm waters or venture out into the Gulf for a bit of offshore fishing. The park’s fishing pier is perfect for both novice and experienced anglers seeking a great catch. For a change of pace, take a guided nature tour to discover the park’s diverse flora and fauna. The Interpretive Center at the Beach Pavilion is an open-air venue and Alabama’s most eco-conscious building. Discover how this facility generates its power and water while delving into the park’s nine diverse ecosystems through engaging interactive exhibits suitable for families. The Interpretive Center is built to achieve LEED Platinum and full Living Building Challenge (LBC) certifications.
