Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab

Located on the eastern end of Dauphin Island this educational venue includes interactive exhibits highlighting the four key habitats of coastal Alabama: the Mobile Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands, and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. More than 100 species are on display, including an interactive stingray tank. Guided excursions exploring the habitats Sea Lab marine scientists study are also available but require advanced registration.

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab’s mission is to become a center for transformative U.S. oceanic and coastal research and education. Onsite programs are available from September through May. Multi-day, single-day, and family programs are available through reservation. The Discovery Hall offers a variety of programs for children during the summer, ranging from single-day programs to residential camps and academic courses.
